Reading Wrap Up | Books I Read in Q1 2022
I wanted to figure out a way to share the book I’ve been reading (besides on my IG stories). I’ve decided to do a quarterly wrap, so here is Q1 2022!
My goal is to read about 2 books per month. I typically read my non-fiction/personal development books during my morning routine and try to squeeze in some fictional reading before bed whenever I can. I have been really into thrillers and mysteries, but sometimes I’ll try out a romance novel if I’m feeling something a bit lighter and cuter.
Keep reading to check out the books I read this quarter and my personal thoughts!

MY THOUGHTS:
This made my head spin! This was a book club pick that I enjoyed. The mystery started right from the very beginning. There were so many different characters and timelines to keep up with, or in my case, not be able to keep up with. The way it ended was a bit underwhelming, but I enjoyed the book, overall.
MY THOUGHTS:
This book was gifted to me by Dutton Books. I saw a lot of mixed reviews before reading and I can see why. It is less about Alyssa Milano’s life as a celebrity/actor and mainly about her political stances. She mentions her dislike of Donald Trump and his actions as president several times throughout the book. If you’re not willing to keep an open mind, this book may not be for you. But, overall, I enjoyed reading about her activism and political stances.
MY THOUGHTS:
I had heard many great reviews about Brené Brown’s books. This one did not disappoint. She focuses on “wholehearted living” and embracing our imperfections. This personal development book contains 10 guideposts to help you live your life wholeheartedly. I love how this book made me really think and rethink how to live my life.
MY THOUGHTS:
What an interesting storyline! A story of twin sisters with different personalities. I had a few “WTF” and “who would do that?” moments to the point that I got a bit frustrated with the characters, but I guess that made the book even better. I was pretty shocked by the ending, although, I probably should’ve saw it coming.
MY THOUGHTS:
Thank you BookTok/Bookstagram for introducing this book to me. I had to see what all the hype was about, and it definitely did not disappoint, in my opinion. I may have shed a couple tears while reading this book. I have since purchased another Colleen Hoover book and can’t wait to read all of her books!
The Miracle Morning: The No-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life Before 8am
by Hal Elrod
Genre: Self-Help
MY THOUGHTS:
This was a great personal development read! Hal Elrod shares his 6 step morning routine that changed his life. Definitely read if you don’t have a morning routine yet (or even if you do). I already had my morning routine before reading this book, but I learned a few new ways to adjust my routine to make it even more beneficial to me.
MY THOUGHTS:
This is a murder mystery that started off good, but just kept getting repetitive as the book went on. It was interesting as new characters were introduced, but then they went back and forth blaming each other for the murders. It ended with a pretty underwhelming reveal.
And, that’s my first quarterly reading wrap up! Let me know in the comments what books you’ve read so far this year!
